If you’re worried about how you or your partner are going to look in your engagement photos – look no further! I know that a common worry for photos (or a reason people dislike having their photo taken) is because they don’t want to look awkward. I am here to give you the best tips on how to not be awkward in your engagement photos.
First thing is first – let go. Just let your guard down from the very beginning. The more you worry about “oh my god is my hair okay is my partner smiling” the more it shows on your face. Trust me. Just laugh and joke and have fun. Whisper funny things, have a tickle fight and feel free to MOVE.
I’ll pose you in a way that looks flattering and give you tips before the session begins on the best ways to interact and stand. But I encourage all of my couples to move about and interact with one another. The BEST PHOTOS are the ones where your partner is moving a strand of hair out of your face or candidly kisses your forehead in the moment – TRUST ME.
Show me your natural chemistry. Be as comfortable in front of each other as you are alone in a room together. If you’re a couple that is okay with PDA, don’t be afraid to make out. You’ll get so many gorgeous photos and your chemistry will show through. If you’re a couple that would prefer to be more private and is okay with more on the cuddling side instead – let me know! I’ll capture the beautifulness of that without pressuring you to full-on make out in front of me.
Feel funny during the beginning? Tell me about your first date or the most awkward time your partner called your home phone back in high school (I’ve got stories upon stories, yo). The more you open up and share, the better! You’ll start to get comfortable and once you’re comfortable, you’ll LOVE your photos!
