Proposing in Toledo? Congrats! You’re probably on this blog post because you need some inspiration for some of the best spots in Toledo Ohio to get engaged and I am here to help! Ready for the proposal spots? Let’s dive in!:
This is obviously super seasonal, but the Lights at the Toledo Zoo is a super popular place to get engaged at during the holiday season! Open from mid-November to New Year’s Eve, the Lights is a beautiful and romantic spot to propose, with many people proposing right in front of the large lit up tree on the Broadway side of the zoo. It’s beautiful over there!
Open from around Thanksgiving until mid December, the Whitehouse Christmas Tree is a romantic spot with wagon rides and free hot chocolate. Fidn the perfect tree and make the day even more epic with a proposal out in the field surrounded by trees.
A quick drive on the Turnpike gets you to a beautiful gem Northwest Ohio has to offer – Marblehead Lighthouse! This little spot has the Lighthouse, lots of large rocks, and beautiful water views. Perfect for a picnic and a ring!
Switching gears, have you thought of a restaurant? Mancy’s is a wonderful spot and a very popular date night/proposal/anniversary spot for locals. There are lots of Mancy’s restaurants to choose from including Italian, Bluewater (seafood), Steakhouse Toledo, and Steakhouse Findlay.
Silver Lake is a beautiful spot out at Oak Openings with a perfect hike to the sand dunes, open area over the bridge and on the other side of the lake that’s secluded and perfect for a picnic, and the views year-round and breathtaking near the water.
I love Wildwood Metropark, specifically the boardwalk trails. You can get so caught up in the beautiful scenery, nature, and views that this boardwalk trail offers. It’s one of my favorite spots to escape and take a walk and it’s a great proposal spot!
Maumee Bay is a beautiful location in Northwest Ohio known for its beach and boardwalk. The boardwalk is a hike but it’s 350% worth it and the beaches are stunning whether you go for sunrise or sunset. It’s a great spot to plan something romantic.
Benchmark restaurant in Levis Commons in Perrysburg is a romantic and upscale location to pop the question. This steakhouse and seafood restaurant is a perfect place to propose while also having a delicious lunch or dinner.
While we are on the topic of Benchmark, Levis Commons is a really great spot to propose. There are so many places such as over by the fountain or clock tower and the restaurants around are all delicious. Perfect date night spot and there’s even gelato to end the night! Just be sure ot check their schedule to make sure they don’t have any big events going on while you’re planning on proposing! Along with crowds, there might be a huge sandcastle being built or an art show you weren’t planning on.
Located at the corner of Girdham and Monclova inside Oak Openings, The Spot is a location in Northwest Ohio unlike any other. It features stunning tall trees and is so beautiful and serene. You’ll pull off on the side of the road, see a small trail, and walk in to your right to this beautiful view.
Toledo Pride is a local event in the community that includes a weekend filled with celebrations ranging from brunch to a parade. It’s an adorable place to propose and would be so much fun!
I love Perrysburg! If your spouse to be in a Harry Potter fan, you should look into proposing during OctoBOOfest, which is a local festival put on in Downtown Perrysburg, Ohio. A personal favorite spot you can propose at year-round is at Hood Park (the park in Perrysburg where the Commodore Perry Statue is). This park has beautiful views and is a great sunset spot. Popped the question? Stop and have dinner at Stella’s to celebrate after!
Downtown Toledo has some of the most beautiful spots around, which makes it a perfect proposal spot. International Park has lots of cool spots and the restaurants of the Dock’s make it a perfect place to celebrate after (or before!) with dinner.
I hope this blog helped you think of some amazing spots in Toledo, Ohio to propose! As I mentioned up above, I am a wedding photographer in Toledo, Ohio, so please reach out if I can help document your proposal or special day!
