Some love stories begin in unexpected places—like a college lecture hall. Julia and Bailey first crossed paths in a psychology class during the second semester of their freshman year at Purdue University in 2018. They sat near each other, struck up conversations, and before long were spending more and more time together doing the ordinary (and wonderful) things that come with college life. Eventually, Bailey asked Julia to be his girlfriend, and from then on, they were inseparable.
Years later, Bailey planned a trip to French Lick, Indiana—a spot Julia had always wanted to visit because of its rich history and stunning architecture. While they were on a hike, tucked away in the woods with no one else around, Bailey got down on one knee. It was simple, intimate, and absolutely perfect—just the two of them, a memory they’ll hold onto forever.
Their wedding day at Gideon Owen Winery in Port Clinton, Ohio, was the perfect reflection of their vision: colorful, joyful, and stylishly relaxed. The ceremony took place in the winery’s underground cellar, a romantic and timeless setting with stone walls and candlelight that made their vows feel even more magical. The celebration continued upstairs in the ballroom, where vibrant, whimsical florals from Gardenview added pops of color against a blue-inspired palette. Bridesmaids wore a soft misty blue, groomsmen dressed in navy, and everything came together beautifully in the summer light.
It was a hot August day, but nothing could take away from the joy and energy of their celebration. Guests enjoyed a classic cookie table—a sweet nod to tradition—and a live painter created the most meaningful keepsake of the day, capturing Julia and Bailey’s first kiss in the wine cellar on canvas.
