Abby and Dakota lucked out on some amazinggggg weather on Saturday! Their day started with hair and makeup at Stone Ridge Golf Club followed by Abby and her girls getting dressed after some champagne photos (so fun!). We grabbed portraits of Abby and her girls (she and her maid of honor had matching best friend tattoos, which I loved!) and Dakota and his groomsmen before the ceremony began and that weather sure was picture perfect for an outdoor ceremony!
The theme for Abby and Dakota’s wedding was a secret garden theme with rustic touches and from the beautiful ceremony arch covered in flowers and draping to the elegant centerpieces with bits of greenery, it looked absolutely beautiful. I loved seeing Dakota’s reaction to Abby walking down the aisle and Abby rest her head on her dad’s shoulder as she walked down the aisle. Another really nice part about the end of the ceremony after the kiss was the officiant announcing for everyone to pray over the couple before cocktail hour.
A big part of Abby’s childhood was watching Disney movies and eating ice cream with her dad at night. They would get up and dance as the Disney songs came on during the movie. As a tribute to those amazing memories, the first part of their father-daughter dance was to a Disney song.
Abby and Dakota met on Bumble and Dakota proposed by driving Abby around to all of their significant “date sites” (the park, a restaurant, his old apartment, then her apartment). Abby went on, “With each stop, he described to her the significance of each date and it’s destination. In her apartment, he said, “ this is the place where I want to ask you to start your life with me” and of course I cried and said yes!”
Congratulations, you guys! It was a beautiful wedding and I wish you many years of happiness!
