I love Detroit and the entire revitalization there is absolutely amazing. Detroit weddings give me a chance to travel while only being a small distance away from Toledo – with no travel fees!

Industrial Detroit wedding venues:

The Eastern

Stunning industrial space with a red and metal ceiling and exposed brick galore. Located right in Downtown Detroit, this venue is complete with a polished concrete floor and holds up to 300 guests. For parking, there is a gravel lot and then a lot across the street and between both, they will be able to accommodate plenty of guests. Outside beverages are not allowed, but you are able to bring your own caterer to this venue. There is no additional fee to have your wedding ceremony here and they provide some tables and benches.

The Whiskey Factory

The Whiskey Factory is home to the Detroit City Distillery. Think of it as an industrial loft meets modern chic for up to 250 guests. Since it is a functioning distillery, it has all the charm you could imagine. There is a private gated lot and you will need to bring your own catering. Tables and chairs are NOT provided in this space. You can host both your ceremony and reception here in rustic style! 

Jam Handy

Jam Handy is a TRICKY. ASS. VENUE. to find info about. From what I gather, the space outside looks a little sus, but it’s AMAZING inside. The Jam Handy website is literally a photo and an email address and that is it, so check out the industrial space for yourself and if it speaks to you, I wish you the best of luck in getting ahold of someone! You’ll have to send me a message with how many guests it holds or what all is included if you find out – I would *assume* you need to bring your own catering and rentals, but I am unsure!

Ford Piquette

Historic and industrial space with whitewashed brick and lots of amazing Model T cars! There is such history in this building! Holding up to 250 guests, this venue features a ceremony and reception space. It is bring your own catering and features an in-house bar. Tables and chairs are included.

The Madison

The Madison is a mix of historical and modern industrial in appearance. The venue holds up to 200 guests, and the rooftop terrace can hold 180 for a reception. The rooftop views are STUNNING. There is a private loft for weather backup. You can bring your own caterer to this venue, but they provide the alcohol. 

Waterview Loft at Port Detroit

Stunning venue with amazing walls of windows showcasing the beautiful waterfront view! A beautiful and elegant modern wedding and industrial venue in Detroit that is extremely romantic. I love the clean all-white look of this space and you could easily keep it simple or really do something elaborate in this venue. Waterview says they are, “Detroit’s best wedding venue, and the perfect backdrop to host your unique ceremony and reception for up to 250 guests.”

The Museum of Contemporary Art

MOCAD is an industrial venue with exposed beams, original brick walls, and graffiti on the exterior of the building. This venue holds 92-905 depending on the space. Alcohol is done in-house and there is a preferred vendors list for caterers or you can bring whoever your heart desires.

The Rust Belt Market

A working public market in Ferndale, this space has twinkle lights, exposed ductwork, tree-branch light fixtures, and an amazing white bar with white pendant lights. The neutral tones make this a spot that can work with any sort of wedding theme or decor. Holds up to 160 guests and alcohol is done in-house while catering can be brought in yourself – there is even convenient parking for food trucks if you go that route for your wedding day. 

The Circ Bar

Exposed brick, high ceilings with dark beams, and a rooftop deck. this venue is located in Ann Arbor and seating up to 250 of your guests. The wooden floors throughout and floor-to-ceiling windows make this a view to check out. The Circ Bar provides in-house alcohol and catering for your wedding.

Vinology Wine Bar and Restaurant

Located in Ann Arbor and seating up to 100 of your favorite humans, this venue has the prettiest hand-blown glass bubble lights suspended above your dinner table! Industrial in appearance with exposed brick and black exposed ceilings, this venue is beautiful. Alcohol and catering are provided in-house since this is a restaurant.

Garden Detroit wedding venues:

Gem Theatre

The Gem Theatre offers a mix of intimate and larger spaces for your wedding day and can accommodate groups from 80 guests up to 275.  The Detroit venue on Madison Avenue offers all-inclusive wedding packages that include plated entrée service, a premium bar, a beautiful garden patio, and convenient parking. They also have a covered outdoor space and cocktail hour patio. Great for movie buffs, art deco fans, and roaring 20’s celebrations. 

The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit

 This beautiful hotel is located right in Downtown Detroit. Their website says, “The iconic Westin Book Cadillac has brought style, glamour, and sophistication back Detroit wedding venues – with a contemporary twist. Rich in history and fresh from an unprecedented 200 million restoration, the historic Book Cadillac seamlessly blends timeless elegance with thoughtful modern touches. Stunning public and ballroom spaces not found elsewhere in the city will “wow” your guests at every turn and approachable, attentive service will allow the evening to be all about you.” They’re ideal for large weddings! Holds over 300 guests.

The Whitney Detroit

Who wouldn’t want to get married in a gorgeous Detroit mansion?! The Whitney website says, “For a sophisticated and intimate dining experience, nothing compares to hosting your guests in one of The Whitney’s elegant dining rooms.” The dining spaces are suited for parties ranging from 10 – 400 people.  The Whitney also has a Garden that is available as a unique and colorful oasis for warm-weather functions.

The Scarab Club

Located behind the Detroit Institute of Arts, this venue features indoor and outdoor ceremony options (100 guest max for indoor ceremonies and 150 max guests outdoor ceremonies) and has indoor reception space for up to 80 guests. The leaded glass windows, art deco look, and intimate walled garden makes this a beauty. Features an in-house caterer: The Cactus Club.

Royal Park Hotel Belgium Glass Conservatory

Their website says, “Our exquisite Conservatory captivates guests as they first catch sight of the Belgian glass walls with the custom green Murano crystal chandelier overhead. With views of private gardens and the hand-carved Italian limestone fountain, this magnificently open and airy space personifies romance and is a creative alternative to an outdoor ceremony during the cooler months.” Holds 160 guests for a ceremony or 80 guests for a reception.

Planterra Conservatory

All glass wedding venue with plants galore! Seats up to 200 guests and is all-inclusive in alcohol and dining. You’ll love the stunning views in this venue year-round. Located in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Ballroom Detroit wedding venues:

The Colony Club

I absolutely love this venue and cannot wait to return! The first time I walked inside, I was truly obsessed with it. Their website explains, “The Colony Club centrally located on Park Avenue is one of the most beautiful and popular event spaces in the city for private events and weddings with gold leaf ceilings, impressive crystal chandeliers, Louis XVI décor, close convenient parking and superb food & beverage service to create a premier location for all types of events.” I have to agree! 

The 3rd Floor Ballroom can accommodate up to 400 guests and the 4th Floor Ballroom up to 150 for dinner and dancing. 

The Roostertail

Amazing glass-enclosed rooms showcasing the waterfront views, The Roostertail is a true Detroit gem. Offering three different rooms to choose from with breathtaking views of the Detroit skyline, this venue is perfect for the couple who wants to show their city off in the best light. The Roostertail offers two charming outdoor ceremony sites to keep all of your guests conveniently at one location and also includes the following rentals with your package: uplighting, Silver Chiavari chairs, and an array of linens. Free parking for you and your guests is available. You just have to see their famous water fountains in person. Holds over 300 of your favorite guests.

Detroit Foundation Hotel

Beautiful historic hotel holding up to 150 guests. This venue is a mix of historic and modern in the best way possible. They provide catered meals from the restaurant and alcohol is provided in-house as well. The fifth-floor event space can hold 80 seated guests for a reception and the patio of the apparatus room can hold 50 seated guests. Hotel rooms are available for out-of-town guests and there is even a rehearsal dinner space for 30. 

Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford Museum

Another venue that I cannot wait to get back and see! I loved the elegant and bright feel of this venue and the balcony and loved the beautiful staircases and hallways here! Lovett Hall seats up to 300 guests, has a spacious ballroom, crystal chandeliers, and features a getting-ready room next to the reception space. 

The Whittier Detroit

Chiavari chairs and tables are included, they offer an in-house bar and culinary services for a fee. They offer free valet in-house for weddings with over 100 guests. The Renaissance-style architecture in these spaces are amazing! 

Winter Garden holds up to 250 guests and features Roman pillars and skylights.

The Grand Ballroom holds 300 guests and has neutral decor and 9 chandeliers.

The Loggia has room for less than 100 guests and has floor-to-ceiling arched windows

Farm/barn Detroit wedding venues:

Zingerman’s Cornman Farms

A beautiful venue located in Dexter, Michigan. If your dream has been to have your wedding on a farm with farm-to-table dining at a restored 1834 farmhouse, this is it. Features a large white farmhouse, and gorgeous tall trees. You can probably just picture yourself walking down the aisle as your guests turn around and see you in this ceremony space, because I sure can! Holds 100 guests inside and 300 guests for an outdoor affair.  All-inclusive for food and drinks and even includes an event producer to make sure your day runs smoothly.

Cushing Field House

Located in Holly, Michigan, this venue features a gray-washed wood building and large garage-style doors made of all glass. Cushing Field House is an industrial meets farmhouse and the interior features warm-toned neutrals and wooden accents. Space for up to 200 guests and you’ll bring your own catering and alcohol for this venue to put your own spin on it. 

Frutig Farms

If you’re looking for a barn-like a large, brown, epic, rustic barn, here it is! This venue gives me all the rustic farmhouse/schoolhouse vibes and I love it! Located in Ann Arbor, Michigan and also referred to as “The Valley”. Seats 250. Alcohol is done in-house but you can bring your own catering for the perfect fit.

The Masonic

Ornate ceilings and woodwork are showcased in this beautiful venue. Chapel for ceremonies, crystal ballroom for receptions, in-house catering, art deco style venue. 

Detroit Opera House

Featuring skydeck weddings, this rooftop experience is one-of-a-kind!

Their website says, “Considered one of Detroit’s most beautiful buildings The Detroit Opera House is one of the crown jewels of Detroit’s burgeoning entertainment district, situated among six restored theatres, Ford Field, Comerica Park, and three casinos. 

The historic, luxurious building offers a wide array of sophisticated spaces for events, from the theatre’s main stage – the largest stage in Michigan – to its SkyDeck, and intimate lounges, the grand lobby, and artistic spaces appropriate for wedding ceremonies and receptions. This is one of the most ornate and important cultural buildings in Detroit and makes for a memorable and beautiful event.” They can host up to 300 of your guests. 

The Fillmore Detroit

An awesome concert and event space! This large venue holds up to 800 guests and has ceremony and reception locations for your perfect spot. A huge perk of this venue is your names in lights on the marquee. You can have your ceremony in the grand lobby or on the stage of the main floor and dinner and dancing are on the main floor. Outside catering is required (there is no kitchen space here), but alcohol is provided by the venue.

Royal Oak Music Theatre

Holds up to 150 guests for your wedding, alcohol and catering are bring your own. Get your name up on the marquee and see your name in lights on your wedding night!

Infinity-Ovation Yacht Charters

I am a huge fan of waterfront weddings, but how about a wedding out on the open water? There’s something special when a wedding dress is blowing in the breeze on a summer day. Their site says, “Our sumptuously appointed yachts with stylish salons and open-air sundecks are a perfect alternative to traditional venues – and make for a distinctively Michigan wedding. Treat yourself, and your guests, to an unforgettable experience cruising along Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River, while enjoying lavish cuisine and flawless service.” Sounds awesome, if you ask me.

Highlands Detroit

Located on the 72nd and 73rd floors of the GM Renaissance Center (GMRENCEN), this venue features a panoramic view of the skyline. The Detroit venue features up to 300 guests, has a ceremony and reception space, and offers in-house catering.

Rattlesnake Club

Waterfront outdoor ceremony space, 6-story stunning atriums, up to 250 guests. Need I say more? They feature in-house catering and have your cocktail hour on patio. Your reception is in the atrium and the Rattlesnake Club only hosts one event per day, so you’re in great hands! This venue is attached to a restaurant, so you know the food here must be excellent.

The Atheneum

A banquet hall/restaurant/hotel for up to 500 guests. Located in Greek Town, this space has a Mediterranean flair with marble pillars and large windows with panoramic city views. Available for indoor ceremony and reception spaces. They have in-house catering and tables and chairs are provided.

Detroit Zoo

Say ‘I do’ at the Zoo! Whether you want to get married in a butterfly garden, surrounded by polar bears,  at a rustic open-air venue, or floating boardwalk, this venue has it all. Seating options from 50-300. Offers in-house catering and parking is included in your venue costs. This venue also provides you with an in-house bar.
