When I first met Aja and she described her vision of a double vow renewal, it sounded so unique to me! Her and her sister-in-law, Octavia, wanted to throw a large reception and vow renewal after having smaller ceremonies several years ago. Octavia and Nate married in 2004 and Aja and Dale married in 2010. The couples met in high school and all went to Prom together. Octavia and Nate met first and then Aja was introduced to Dale at a later time.
The vision for the renewal was a very romantic feel, incorporating an enchanted butterfly theme. The two couples used the theme butterflies since they symbolize change, renewal, and happiness. Aja’s little brother walked her down the aisle, which was very special to her because after losing her mother to stomach cancer, she became the guardian of him until after he graduated from high school. Octavia and her father walked down the aisle and they also shared a father/daughter dance during the reception. Each bride also had 2 dresses: a ceremony and a reception dress.
The bridal party was split into two different colors to differentiate who was in what wedding party. There were colors of wisteria, purple, and mint green. It was absolutely beautiful! There were quite a few people between both wedding parties, but everyone was so much fun! Our largest wedding party to date! It was a beautiful day! Congrats to both of the happy couples!
