Gideon Owen Wedding

Friday was such a special celebration at Gideon Owen, a Port Clinton Ohio winery! Travis and Kyleigh both grew up in Muncie, Indiana, and went to the same high school. Travis was a grade older than her and she had quite the crush on him! Although the pair never dated, their paths continued to cross as they both moved down to Bloomington to attend IU. After college, the couple kept in touch and would run into each other when home for the holidays.

In the fall of 2015, Kyleigh took a travel RN position down in Texas. While in Texas, their conversations became much more frequent. Kyleigh wrote, “We both happened to be back in Indiana for the holidays and Travis finally asked me on a date! The moment I walked through the door he kissed me, and the rest is history!”

After lots of time as a long-distance couple, Kyleigh accepted a travel nurse position in Milwaukee, where Travis was living. I am so happy for these two and how their love story unfolded – they were just absolutely meant to be together!

Their wedding was absolutely beautiful, taking place on the grounds of Gideon Owen. The ladies got ready at the log cabin on the grounds while the guys got ready at a nearby hotel and hung out. The couple chose to have a first look before the wedding ceremony so that they had time to mingle during cocktail hour, so we went to a cliff area in Port Clinton in a little gated community. I had been there once before in the winter, so it was nice to go there in the summer and see everything blooming!

Their ceremony took place inside the wine cellar, which is a rock cave slightly below ground. It’s a very unique ceremony spot and I loved how it was decorated with candles and uplighting to really enhance the mood lighting of the space.

After the ceremony, guests gathered outside for cocktail hour and Kyleigh and Travis got to mingle and take some extended family photos. Their reception took place inside the private dining room inside Gideon Owen and I just loved the emerald green velvet sitting couches, floral touches, wine barrels, and stunning cake. It was such a beautiful day, the live band got everyone out of their seats, and I was so happy to be a part of the celebration. Congratulations, Kyleigh and Travis! Your day was absolutely perfect!
