I loved meeting Stacie and Lauren at 7 am on a chilly Saturday morning in February for their Maumee River Ledges engagement photos. We chose 7 am so that we could hit the sunrise, which did not disappoint! These two ladies were champs shivering in the cold and thankfully we coordinated a blanket to go along with some of the shots so they could stay warm!
I just love couples that trust me, meet me crazy early in a random park parking lot, and get up super early just so that we have the prettiest light to work with. I originally met Stacie a year before she and Lauren chose me to be their wedding photographer when she saw me at a bridal show. A year later, I was able to meet Lauren when they went to the same Toledo bridal show in January and I was there again! We chatted for a long time and it ended in hugs. A few days later, they chose me to be their wedding photographer and the pair are getting married at Nazareth Hall in April.
I cannot wait to document their love again in a (hopefully!) warmer time of year. These two are just so sweet and adorable and I loved listening to their giggles as they cuddled and posed. Their wedding is going to be absolutely beautiful, with Stacie wearing a dress and Lauren wearing a suit.
Sunrise engagement photos in the winter in Toledo can be a gamble since we don’t know if it’ll be cloudy and lack color. At least for sunsets, we can sort of gauge what it will look like throughout the day, so I always appreciate couples willing to trust and take a leap of faith with me. I was in awe of the beautiful sunrise and of the little beads of frozen water stuck to the tall grass.
