Nazareth Hall Wedding
Meghan and Kyle’s Nazareth Hall wedding was so carefree and stress-free that it almost felt TOO easy. It was exactly how a bride would envision her day going – from the casual getting ready over mimosas and snacks to the first look and the gorgeous grotto ceremony and then being able to see guests during cocktail hour, it was truly a dream. I knew this couple was going to be amazing because of their Harry Potter touches for the wedding day and the way the two laugh around each other.
Meghan envisioned a vintage and romantic wedding and Gabriel Ballroom inside Nazareth Hall looked just like that. There were vintage suitcases and stunning centerpieces and even up lighting that created the perfect mood. The wedding colors were light pink, gold, and white.
Something unique that I mentioned above was Meghan’s and Kyle wanted to do their getting ready photos, first look, portraits, and all of their family photos before their guests started arriving for the ceremony. Together Meghan and I worked to create a perfect timeline so that the two could enjoy time with their guests during cocktail hour instead of running around squeezing photos into a 60-minute slot, which is impossible as a photographer and also as a newly married couple! That’s a lot of pressure and stress to put into an hour!
Meghan and Kyle met at another wedding, which I thought was a great way to meet! Meghan’s cousin married kyle’s friend. The two texted after the wedding (but not the first few days before the wedding when they actually met because Kyle gave the wrong number, whoops!) and then dated long distance for a year until Meghan made the move to New Hampshire so they could be together in 2017.
They have such a hilarious proposal story. Meghan said, “Kyle and I had talked about getting engaged so I was expecting it, not necessarily when it would happen, but I knew it would happen eventually. He knew that, so leading up to the proposal he thought it would be funny to fake propose to me. One time I took a nap and woke up to a ring box on the pillow next to me. I opened the box and it was his class ring. Or he would act like he was going to propose and would get down on one knee and then end up just tying his shoe. So when the proposal actually happened I thought he was joking at first. It happened when we were in OH for Thanksgiving this past year. Myself, Kyle’s sisters, their sons and Kyle’s sons all went to take pictures of the kids as a gift to give Kyle’s parents for Christmas. So we’re taking pictures of the kids and then Kyle says to me that we should take some family pics of the three of us, me, Kyle and his son Oliver. So we’re taking pictures and then Kyle says that we should take one standing up because all the ones prior had been sitting down. So I stand up and then Kyle asks me to turn around and he’s down on one knee…so I assumed he was joking with me so the first words out of my mouth were ‘screw you’ (I’m such a romantic, lol). Then I saw the ring and realized he was serious and then I just remember crying and hugging. His sisters got it all on video and got pictures of it. In the video you see Ollie, Kyle’s 4-year-old, yelling “Daddy! Daddy! Can we go home now?!” Then he sees me crying and he got so concerned, “What happened?! Are you OK??”. It’s so funny because I don’t remember any of that, so I’m really glad we got video.”
Congratulation, Meghan and Kyle! I wish you the very best of luck throughout your marriage!
