Courtney and Jonathan were married Saturday in Ottawa Hills, Ohio in a beautiful backyard. I couldn’t believe these two had perfect weather for their day, especially when 90+ degree days bookended their wedding day. It was incredible to see their family and friends come together, witness their heartfelt vows, and hear their laughs and giggles.

After the ceremony, I was able to take family photos under the beautiful trees and gold paper stars and then capture portraits of Courtney and Jonathan as their family so graciously took down all of the decor to reset the backyard – they rented an AirBnb! They even put a swingset back in place that you would have had no idea was even there!

Then it was on to Inside the Five in Sylvania for their reception. This was my first time being there on the top for an event, but it was a beautiful space and I loved that when I was driving downtown in Sylvania, there were all of these amazing paper lanterns strung out on the buildings, so I knew we had to stop in the road for a few fun photos.

The reception was beautiful and included a feature wall with a handpainted sky and clouds and then a moon as well. There were so many personalized and handpainted or hand-crafted details and I just loved how it all came together. My favorite moments were seeing these two mingle with their close circle and then Jonathan and his mom shared a few seconds of their first dance in a traditional way before breaking into the Pokemon Song complete with inflatable pokeballs. Congrats, Courtney and Jonathan! I wish you both the very best!
