On a stormy Friday evening, Katie and Tyler were married at Maumee Bay. What was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony quickly turned into an indoor ceremony, but I was THRILLED that we had a little break between rain showers for portraits. When I was driving to the ceremony, there was lightning in the field next to me! Talk about terrifying!
The overall theme of the wedding was a romantic/elegant vibe. There were Edison bulbs draped across the ceiling, beautiful Chiavari chairs, and romantic uplighting. Katie’s dress had silvery tones and the wedding colors were steel blue and blue tones with pink blush accents. Everything looked so beautiful together!
Katie and Tyler met in 2013 when Katie got a job at 5 Guys Burgers and Fries, where Tyler worked. The pair ended up working together for about two years and from there, it was history! Tyler texted Katie the night before he proposed and said he had planned something special; fall pictures and a picnic together. The next day, they went to Grand Rapids and took a walk to a festival, taking pictures along the way. Tyler brought Katie up on the bridge over the creek and started playing music. He then proceeded to sing her a song that he had written and at the end, got down on one knee and proposed! It was a big surprise and Katie said several onlookers cheered and clapped who were able to witness the entire thing.
It was a beautiful day and I was so happy we had some time after the ceremony to go outside for some family portraits and portraits of these two. Katie and Tyler, I wish you two the very best!
