An engaged couple walking quickly through the rain

Niki and Matt had an absolutely stunning day at Registry Bistro on Saturday! They incorporated good beer, plants, chickens, and amazing food into their night and it was spectacular seeing them enjoying it surrounded by friends and family under bistro lights. These two have a farmhouse with chickens and cats and dogs and all kinds of fun if you remember their engagement photos from a few weeks back and it was nice to see them in their wedding clothes in such a unique venue. They LOVE Registry Bistro, so it was nice to see them enjoying themselves at one of their favorite spots after getting married!

I loved how no-fuss the entire day was – a simple timeline with time set aside for lots of photos, no wedding party. I even helped Niki into her dress and we busted out the scissors before the reception began so I could cut a little bit of her dress underlayer off and make them all slightly shorter. They focused on spending that quality time with friends and family and it was a breath of fresh air. We even walked around Toledo Pride a little bit since it was happening last weekend and was just a few blocks down from Registry Bistro.

Matt proposed at Wamplers Lake in Michigan on December 27th. Niki’s family has a place up there. Matt said, “As we put the dogs inside after a short winter walk along the lake, I told Niki I wanted to go down to the water. Of course, she knew what I was up to. As we walked down and I was too nervous even to say anything. I think we made nonsense small talk as we worked to the icy shore. I was too nervous to even go down on a knee.”

Niki was in charge of coming up with the plants/flowers they used for the wedding and they looked absolutely spectacular. Each person received a small plant to take home (I haven’t killed mine yet, Niki!). Congrats, you two! It was such an incredible day and I wish you both the very best!
