When meeting with couples, we sometimes hear them ask about a first look in NW Ohio and whether that is something we offer or require in order to photograph their big day. Here at Luckybird Photography, we won’t talk you into something that isn’t you, but we do offer the first look as something we can factor into the wedding timing.
What is a First Look?
Before I get ahead of myself, I should explain a first look to those who haven’t heard of it before. A first look is when the couple decides to see each other before the wedding. You can find more information here in this article. This can be because they choose to see each other for the extra photo opportunities (YAY!), would prefer the first time together the wedding day to be in private, or because the timing between the ceremony and reception is very close together and this opportunity is the only time they have together for formals together and with the wedding party.
How Much Extra is a First Look?
There is no extra fee for us to do a first look – we just add on the extra timing to the day with our pricing. That way, it is noted in our contract and we can talk about where it could take place photographically in order to make the pictures even more spectacular. Typically, we’ll plan on arriving two hours before a ceremony when we know we are capturing a first look.
Sometimes Bride’s also have a first look with their fathers. I love this concept as well as we can get some really emotional photographs from a first look.
