I had such a fun little Wednesday wedding/elopement in downtown Toledo last week! This was my first ever Wednesday wedding and it sure was a lot of fun! Kenzie and Jake originally had plans for a destination wedding in Mexico, but due to COVID, had to reschedule. I photographed their engagement session back in the fall, so I was thrilled when they contacted me about the intimate wedding they had planned for August!
The Plan B was a courthouse in Toledo, but we were unsure of what would be open if things got worse, so a Plan C was developed a few weeks before the wedding to go to Middle Grounds Park. Kenzie’s mom’s ashes were scattered close to where the ceremony took place, so we were thankful that the smaller groups of people eating lunch and enjoying the scenery left so Kenzie could keep her ideal location at Middlegrounds Park for the ceremony.
The ceremony was quick and perfect and afterward, we took family photos (and photos with Barley, the couple’s 90+ pound dog!). I then took lots of photos throughout the park of the couple, as per usual. We had so much fun together and the weather was absolutely PERFECT!
After the portraits, we headed to the couple’s favorite bar and regular hangout place, the Bier Stube. This was 100% my first time for a bar wedding in like, an actual bar. Not an event space in a bar. And I am here for it, guys. It only made sense these beer lovers had their COVID backup plan inside their favorite bar, right? It was a super-intimate affair for around 20 guests or so and the couple celebrated with cake and a first dance.
Congrats, Kenzie and Jake! Your day was absolutely perfect and I am honored I got to also document your wedding day!
