Laura and Nate’s wedding had all the Vintage Woodland / Estate Garden Party vibes last weekend! Their Toledo Botanical Garden wedding features colors including plum, spring greens, and off-white with some lilac and brass accents. Laura’s vision was “romance and whimsy but with easy elegance” and she absolutely nailed it! The tented outdoor wedding featured string lights, brass and floral centerpieces, sitting areas for guests, and some gorgeous floral accents. This was my first complete ceremony and reception at Toledo Botanical Garden before and I just absolutely love how it turned out.

Nathan and Laura met when they matched on Bumble when Nathan was visiting a friend in Boston. They long-distance chatted for one month before deciding to meet somewhere neutral for their first date, Chicago! Nathan planned a perfect weekend, and the pair flew back and forth to see each other a few times a month for almost two years until they decided to make the jump to live in Toledo. They are in the process of renovating their Old Orchard home, and each one brings their skills to the table – Nathan to woodwork and construction and Laura to painting, sewing, and design. Fern, the couple’s cat, greeted us promptly upon arrival.

Other than renovating their beautiful home, the couple enjoys working in their garden, walking in the state forests hunting for mushrooms, foraging for wild plants, and using all those things to cook up great meals together. They like to get out and hike, bike, camp, kayak wherever they can fit it in, whether locally or while traveling together.

One of my favorite moments of the wedding day was seeing Laura and her dad have their first look together moments before the ceremony. Laura mentioned to me that she and her dad had a very close bond and those tears and hugs right before they walked down the aisle showed me just how much they love and care for each other.

It was a great day and we could not have asked for better weather – those clouds were everything on the wedding day! Congrats, Mr. + Mrs. Anderson. Your wedding was beautiful and I wish you both the very best!
