Gabby and Hunter met in high school and have a very Lifetime movie-like story! Gabby was a cheerleader and Hunter played football and basketball. In 2012, Gabby brought cookies to a team dinner and Hunter messaged her after to ask where they were from. The two kept chatting and went on a first date about a week later and made it official about a month later. Now, they’re still together and got married!

I asked Gabby for their proposal story and here is what she said, “Summer of 2020 was kind of crazy for everyone with COVID and the lockdown. As soon as we were able to travel to the cabin in Michigan we made multiple trips up there to tear down the old deck and build a new one. This was our first major project together and we had so much fun doing it. We took about 5 trips up to the cabin and on the final trip of the summer, we finished the deck Friday and had a couple of days to relax before we came home. For about 6-7 years we’ve been leaving the family at the cabin for an afternoon to go into Charlevoix for a date day and get lunch or dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Weathervane. Then we would take a walk by the water and get ice cream and head home. The proposal was so special because it was no different than any other day in Charlevoix. We spent the first part of the weekend working hard together and we got to finish the weekend in our favorite way. After dinner at the Weathervane, we walked down on the beach and he proposed at sunset. He had hired a photographer so we did a little impromptu photoshoot and finished the night with ice cream.”

We love working on projects together. Our latest project has been the house we purchased in May. We start almost every Saturday and Sunday with a morning coffee run and work on the house most of the day. From painting to new floors, to decorating, we bring different styles and ideas to the table and it’s so fun to do together. Aside from that, we love spending time with our friends and families. We have a cookout almost every weekend and Hunter loves karaoke.

What was supposed to be a rainy weekend turned into a cloudy but nice Saturday! These two were expecting to plan a tented outdoor ceremony and were able to have the outdoor wedding ceremony they were hoping for and outdoor dancing! It was an incredible day and I was absolutely thrilled to be a part of it! Congrats, Gabby and Hunter! What an amazing day!
