Earlier in June, I had the most amazing experience with Laura and Avi for their Toledo Country Club wedding photography! Their gold, sage green, and ivory wedding was absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony and reception were both held at the Toledo Country Club and Laura and Avi shared a first look and opted to do all of their family formals and portraits before the ceremony began. Their elegant reception took place inside the Toledo Country Club and featured beautiful centerpieces and a single flower at each table setting.
While Avi was a senior and Laura only a freshman, they met because they sat next to each other in Calculus II class. Avi and Laura got to know one another during study group sessions and hit it off. After five months of building their relationship at Denison, Avi and Laura started their long distance journey. Avi moved to Kansas City, Missouri to begin his doctoral studies in economics while Laura remained in Granville, Ohio to finish her degree. During this time, Avi and Laura traveled many miles to see each other whenever they could, which included spending future Thanksgivings with Avi’s family in the suburbs of Chicago and Christmas with Laura’s in Toledo. Four years later, Avi finished his schooling and began teaching at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. It took one more year, but finally, in August 2016, Avi and Laura were able to put an end to the long distance after Laura transferred to the EY Orlando office. Now settled in the sunshine state, Avi and Laura are thrilled to start this new chapter of their lives together.
For Avi and Laura, Thanksgiving has always been a special time of year. It was when Avi first asked Laura out, and during their time spent apart, it was a time of year when they could enjoy each other’s company with friends and family. And it was during Thanksgiving week in 2016 that Avi and Laura took the next step in their relationship. While in Chicago visiting his family, Avi surprised Laura with two tickets to the hottest show in town – “Hamilton”. After a wonderful night on the town, Avi and Laura retreated to his parents’ apartment in the city. It was there on the balcony, overlooking Millennium Park and Lake Michigan, that Avi asked Laura to marry him. Thankfully, Laura said “yes!”
Congrats, you two! We wish you many years of happiness!
