Toledo Wedding DJ | Touch the Sky

I love chatting with Rick Clark, owner of Touch the Sky, a DJ business in Toledo. Rick is so passionate about what he does and such a joy to be around. He has been in the wedding industry for 9 years and I can’t wait to share what I learned with you below!:

Tell us about Touch the Sky

Touch the Sky provides all of the sound for your night. Music and equipment for speeches and announcements is our biggest tech contribution for our couple’s big day. The most important part about what we do is provide a fun and smooth-flowing night with all of the things our couples want to see happen (bouquet/garter toss, first dance, cake cut, etc.). We are there to make the night a blast and keep our couples from worrying about what’s next and who’s going to make it happen. Hands down…we will!

What sets us apart is the level of care we pour into our clients. Our clients know beyond a shadow of doubt that they can trust us and that they’re in good hands. The communication is there, the consistency is right in front of you, and we pay attention to the details.

Why did you get into weddings?

I got DJing because I love people and music. I genuinely want to see people have a great night and I know how to keep everyone involved.

What are some common questions you get asked by couples?

Our main questions are in regards to what our package includes as well as if we do same sex weddings.

Our package includes lighting, ceremony, music requests, online planning access, and consultations. An all-around win! We don’t offer multiple packages. We do one package and we get it done right.

Yes, we DJ same-sex weddings. We believe love is love and we don’t discriminate on sexual orientation, gender, color, ability, age, or anything else. If you’re a good person looking for a good service, we want to work with you. If you’re mean or snooty, kick rocks.

What do you wish people knew about Touch the Sky?

We are humble, fun, and believe and going the extra mile for every client. Those characteristics are woven into everything we do.

How far in advance should a couple book you for their event?

9-12 months out. Because we’ve been in business for 7 years now, that timing is increasingly getting longer. I have some couples booking us 1.5 years out. We consider that an honor and reflective of our work.

What is the biggest regret you hear about hiring a dj?

That their DJ didn’t bring the party and they didn’t know how to work with people. I’ve heard this on several occasions and it makes me cringe every time.

What’s an average amount a couple can expect to spend with you?

The average people spend on my service is $1100. Brides tell me ALL THE TIME they can’t put a number on the value of service they’ve received from us. It warms my heart and makes me want to keep doing this.

What advice do you have for a couple looking for someone like you?

Contact us early. As soon as you start your plans. We can meet for a coffee or drink. My treat. And we can talk about how TSDJs can make your day a dream come true.
