Toledo Zoo Malawi Wedding with Giraffes

Beth and Chris met in high school when they had computer lab together. Their groups of friends starting meshing so the pair started hanging outside of school as well. As Beth said, “Life got crazy and we ended up breaking up in college for about 4 years until one of my good friend’s weddings. We ended up connecting again on the dance floor that night! We were so happy to finally be reunited and the rest is history!” I think I can speak for everyone when I say that you two are absolutely meant for each other!

For the proposal, it was late and Beth had just gotten home from a long shift. She went upstairs to change into some PJs. She said, “Chris was acting weird and was standing outside of the room.” The room Beth was changing in has a big window that overlooks their back yard but since it was dark out, there was a shade drawn. As soon as Beth got changed, Chris ran into the room, shut off the light, pulled the shade up, and started playing โ€˜Best Friendโ€™ by Queen on his phone and got down on one knee! Beth said, “I was shocked to see that he had built a display of Christmas lights in our back yard that said โ€œwill you marry me”!” Once Beth’s eyes adjusted to the lighting differences, she said yes!

Their wedding, which was supposed to take place at the Toledo Zoo in 2020, was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. Beth and Chris opted to elope in Florida to get married with just a few people around and celebrate bigger in 2021. This year Chris ran down the aisle, Michael Scott and Game of Thrones were a part of their ceremony readings, and there was a giraffe feeding during cocktail hour. I loved how lighthearted and fun the entire day was and was thrilled they got to have their big wedding day this year! Congrats, Beth and Chris! I am so happy for you both and cannot wait to see where life takes you!
