Where to Propose in Toledo, Ohio

Here are some of the best spots in Toledo to get engaged!:

Maumee Bay

Maumee Bay is a beautiful location in Northwest Ohio known for its beach and boardwalk. The boardwalk is a hike but it’s 350% worth it and the beaches are stunning whether you go for sunrise or sunset. It’s a great spot to plan something romantic.

Promenade Park

Located in downtown Toledo off of Summit Street, Promenade Park features some ombre blue rings that are a sculpture and is located right by the water. It is across from International Park at The Dock’s.

Whitehouse Christmas Tree Farm

Open from around Thanksgiving until mid-December, the Whitehouse Christmas Tree is a romantic spot with wagon rides and free hot chocolate. Find the perfect tree and make the day even more epic with a proposal out in the field surrounded by trees.

The Toledo Zoo Lights Before Christmas

The Toledo Zoo Lights are a popular spot to get engaged! They run from mid-November until New Year’s Eve and have so many amazing lights to see. There is a very large and lit evergreen tree that is a popular place to pop the question. Celebrate with fudge and hot chocolate after – I recommend going to the zoo around 4:30 – 5 pm because it gets very backed up the later in the night you attend.

Marblehead Lighthouse

A quick drive on the Turnpike gets you to a beautiful gem Northwest Ohio has to offer – Marblehead Lighthouse! This little spot has the Lighthouse, lots of large rocks, and beautiful water views. Perfect for a picnic and a ring!

Oak Openings

Silver Lake is a beautiful spot out at Oak Openings with a perfect hike to the sand dunes, the open area over the bridge, and on the other side of the lake that’s secluded and perfect for a picnic, and the views year-round and breathtaking near the water. The Spot is another wonderful location on the corner of Girdham and Moncolva with a strip of amazing tall trees.

Wildwood Metropark

I love Wildwood Metropark, specifically the boardwalk trails. You can get so caught up in the beautiful scenery, nature, and views that this boardwalk trail offers. It’s one of my favorite spots to escape and take a walk and it’s a great proposal spot!

Levis Commons

Levis Commons is a really great spot to propose. There are so many places such as over by the fountain or clock tower and the restaurants around are all delicious. Perfect date night spot and there’s even gelato to end the night! Just be sure to check their schedule to make sure they don’t have any big events going on while you’re planning on proposing! Along with crowds, there might be a huge sandcastle being built or an art show you weren’t planning on.

Toledo Pride

Toledo Pride is a local event in the community that includes a weekend filled with celebrations ranging from brunch to a parade. It’s an adorable place to propose and would be so much fun!

Downtown Perrysburg

I love Perrysburg! If your spouse to be in a Harry Potter fan, you should look into proposing during OctoBOOfest, which is a local festival put on in Downtown Perrysburg, Ohio. A personal favorite spot you can propose at year-round is at Hood Park (the park in Perrysburg where the Commodore Perry Statue is). This park has beautiful views and is a great sunset spot. Popped the question? Stop and have dinner at Stella’s to celebrate after!

International Park at the Docks

Downtown Toledo has some of the most beautiful spots around, which makes it a perfect proposal spot. International Park has lots of cool spots and the restaurants of the Dock’s make it a perfect place to celebrate after (or before!) with dinner.
