Ideas for Wedding Reception Food

If you are looking for food ideas for your wedding reception, this is the article for you! Here are some of our favorite non-traditional dishes that I think would be perfect for your wedding day!

I’ll start by covering many different types of foods that are perfect for appetizers and grazing stations: finger foods (such as fruit skewers), dips (such as hummus), and small sandwiches (such as sliders and veggie wraps). I find small, easy-to-eat foods such as these to be simple for guests to quickly handle themselves or grab off a server’s tray. You cannot go wrong with fresh fruits and veggies, cheese, or a nice charcuterie spread.

For dinner, have you thought of a more non-traditional option versus chicken or beef? What do you love to eat? Whether you have your favorite restaurant cater such as a Mediterranian restaurant or Chipotle, a few food trucks, or something simple like tacos, your guests will love a fun and quirky meal. Also, if you want a traditional sit-down meal, think about having it served family-style! Just remember, regardless of what you choose, to have vegan, kid, gluten-free, and vegetarian options to accommodate all of your guests. Take it a step further and ask on the RSVP if they have dietary needs so you can tell catering in advance!

The best food for a wedding reception is often the type of food that people can easily eat with their hands while mingling and socializing. Finger foods are great because they don’t require utensils, which means guests won’t have to worry about being too messy or getting sauce on their clothes! We hope these ideas help you make your big day memorable.
