bride-and-groom-first-look-at-toledo-zoo-fall-wedding

Saturday was everything that dreams are made of. The Toledo Zoo has such a perfect modern feel at Malawi with plenty of space (the couple had their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception there) and the overall look and feel of this venue fit Kristi and Scott’s color scheme perfectly. But before I show the wedding photos, let me back up because I haven’t even talked about this amazing couple and their love story!

Kristi and Scott actually met online via an online dating site. Kristi was one of Scott’s first dates and she thought he was going to be just another ridiculous first date story to share with her friends. Little did the couple know that we would bond over reruns of Cash Explosion at a local bar – they realized as they were leaving that they didn’t even sit down! They just stood up at the bar and talked and laughed for over 5 hours. Then, when they left, Kristi let him kiss her goodnight, and always makes sure to tell him that she let him kiss her!

Scott and Kristi have one of the best proposal stories ever. Scott proposed at home when it was just the two of them. He actually asked Kristi to marry him while wearing an inflatable dinosaur costume, total goals. With the ring in one hand and a sign that said “Will you be my co-op partner ’til extinction” in the other, that was all she wrote. Kristi has a thing for dinosaurs, so it was a sure thing.

Their wedding was very modern with black, white and metallic copper accents. There were a lot of geometric elements on the tables and used as decor and they had acrylic signs throughout the venue directing guests to the different parts of the day. They had cocktail hour with a sloth and the carousel was available for guests to use as well. We had the most perfect sunset to end their portraits! After the ceremony, which featured a pretty unique unity ceremony involving a canvas and paint, the couple went right into cocktail hour with their guests since they did a first look, wedding party, and family photos beforehand in order to be present.

Congrats, Kristi and Scott! I wish you two the very best in your marriage!
