When it comes time for the wedding day, you should feel as stress-free as you possibly can! Your wedding day isn’t a day to pile a bunch of things on your shoulders and do it yourself! You should be relaxing and enjoying this day you have prepared so long for! Here are my tips and advice for the best wedding morning ever:
Do not forget to eat all day! Get a bagel tray, fruit tray, or sandwiches if getting ready around lunch time. You shouldn’t walk down the aisle on an empty stomach.
RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR MORNING
Have some time to kick back and relax. Enjoy yourself and take in the moments. Spend time with your family and friends.
DON’T DIY YOUR DAY
Let someone else do your hair and makeup! You shouldn’t have to stress out about those things and should enjoy the moment. How often do you get your hair and makeup done? Probably not often! Splurge a little and have someone else help you get camera ready.
Delegate tasks such as ceremony decor, hanging your dress and getting it camera ready, and the delivering of gifts and rings. That shouldn’t be left up to you!
SET EXPECTATIONS FOR EVERYONE
Set expectations for bridesmaids, family members, when to arrive, when to be dressed, etc. Let family members know who can see you before the wedding, let family members know if they will be in photos and when, and let your bridesmaids know what you need help with or what they should be doing and when. The more you are clear with what they need to do, the easier it will be!
PREPARE YOUR DETAILS
Leave out only what you need to be photographed while getting ready (perfume, garter, shoes, jewelry) and hide everything else. The less clutter, the better. Have girls purses and bags on one bed or chair and have one bed open for the dress and details.
CREATE POCKETS OF TIME
Create a buffer everywhere you can for emergencies and variables. Have plenty of time to get to your ceremony so you aren’t running late. Nothing is more stressful than being stuck in traffic or having your party bus get lost while you’re supposed to be somewhere else.
Think about your cars. Since you’ll be leaving from the reception and not the ceremony site (if 2 spots), can people carpool? Can you take some cars earlier to the reception or even the day before with rehearsal to ensure one less trip? Stopping to grab cars after the ceremony is a big time waster, especially for those who need their cars but may be riding on a party bus or limo. It’s very difficult to coordinate!
REMEMBER TO ENJOY THE DAY
Enjoy the day, enjoy the food, and savor every moment. It’ll go by so quickly. Just let the small stuff roll off your back and remember how special this day is!
