Last weekend we had a beautiful waterfront Catawba Island Club Wedding with Heather and Alex! The couple had a beautiful outdoor ceremony that overlooked the water and tented reception.
I adore tented receptions. They are a photographer’s DREAM. The way that the light is diffused in a tent is my absolute favorite! The adorable couple did not choose to see each other before the wedding, but they did hold hands and get a chance to say a few words to each other. I loved seeing Alex’s smiling face when his beautiful bride walked down the aisle.
I had such a fun time with this couple! They were so relaxed and natural in front of the camera and they weren’t scared to let go and be themselves! They also had a wedding party that was SO much fun.
We had a chance during cocktail hour to sneak away and grab some beautiful bridal portraits with some softer and prettier light. I absolutely love getting to take some romantic shots away from the hustle and bustle of everything going on. Heather carried a stunning bouquet with mostly white and pops of pink and purple. It was absolutely breathtaking. The two also had several wine-related details, such as cork place cards and old bottles used for centerpieces.
We grabbed some sunset photos right outside of the reception area – a must-have at Catawba Island Club. I am never disappointed by a sunset on a wedding day there. Just look at those clouds!
Book that DJ helped arrange the shoe game, traditional dances, and then later, the FUN! They kept the party going the entire night! Alex also had the funniest garter removal. He spent several minutes removing items from under Heather’s dress such as the plunger featured below. It got lots of laughs!
